Titleist’s SM10 Vokey Design: What You Need to Know
Titleist is back with a new generation of its Vokey Design Wedges, as the SM10 are now being rolled out with a variety of improvements.
Vokey Wedges are among the most trusted and utilized clubs within professional ranks, and Titleist has added new technology and engineering to produce lower, controlled ball flights with improved feel and maximum spin.
The SM10 lineup now equips six different Tour-proven sole grinds: F, S, M, K, T, and D. There are 25 total unique loft, bounce, and grind combinations, giving players a suitable and custom fit to cater to your game and desired shot shape and ball flight.
Perhaps the most important thing about playing the game with this many options available is to find out what is best for you, and Bob Vokey believes it is crucial to work with a fitter to find the optimal setup:
“I always tell players that the most important club in the bag is confidence. Getting fit for each of your wedges, and learning how to use them in different situations, is one of the fastest ways to gain confidence around the green.”
With Titleist’s SM10 wedges, there are several new focuses:
Precise Distance and Trajectory Control
A new progressive center of gravity replacement system through lofts are featured on the SM10. This results in a lower, more controlled trajectory, more solid feel, and tighter shot dispersion.
Maximum Spin
It is no secret that the key to more control around the greens is better and more predictable spin.
The SM10 has a patented Spin Milled process from Vokey Design and has been refined to deliver higher, more consistent spin ratings with every shot. Every grove is individually cut based on loft and finish, and treated with high frequency heat to maximize durability.
Development of the SM10
Titleist used player feedback to help refine the new age of Vokey Wedges.

Corey Gerrade, Director of Marketing for Vokey Wedges, confirmed this:
“Player feedback drives our development process. Whether we’re talking with tour professionals or dedicated amateurs, every bit of player insight matters. All the advances we made to SM10, from looks and feel to grind options and desired flight windows, reflect that player input.”
Vokey SM10 Use on Tour
Twenty players immediately made the move to SM10 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua. Two of them are Jordan Spieth and Max Homa:
Spieth – 46.10F, 52.08F, 56.10S, 60.04T
Homa – 46.10F, 50.12F, 56.14F, WedgeWorks 60L
Spieth said:
“I flight my wedges really low, and as I got to the gap wedge and the pitching wedge (with SM10), I saw some more consistency in the flight, especially on the draw intent shots, just kind of holding a little straighter… kind of that more pinch-ier flight without it over-hooking. That’s always a benefit when we’re looking at these left pins and trying to attack them.”

This past weekend at the American Express, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young added SM10 to their bags:
Thomas – 46.10F, 52.12F, 56.14F, 60.04T
Young – Vokey SM10 48.10F, 52.12F, 58.08M & 60.04T @62
