Titleist is known for its tour-validation process.  After extensive planning, testing, and research, some of the best players in the world are armed with Titleist’s newest products, from golf balls to irons, to give their feedback.

Most recently, its been the new TS2 and TS3 drivers, and things are looking really good.

The TS2 and TS3 drivers first debuted last month during the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. Despite the new clubs appearing for the first time on the USGA’s conforming driver list just that Monday, 17 golfers, including Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, and Jimmy Walker, instantly opted to put either the TS2 (7) or TS3 (10) driver in their bag.

In fact, Justin Thomas managed to bomb a 422-yard drive at Shinnecock with his new TS3, and Ian Poulter likewise picked up some ball speed and distance with a TS3.

So while the details surrounding each driver remain to be confirmed, what’s certain is that these drivers are the real deal.

More recently, the TS2 provided Michael Kim with a lot to celebrate: his 25th birthday, his first career PGA TOUR title, a tournament scoring record (a 27-under-par 257 total, composed of 63-64-64-66), and the TS2’s first win on the Tour at the John Deere Classic.

Notably, Kim ranked second in Driving Accuracy at 82.14% (46/56) and 3rd in Greens in Regulation at 83.33% (60/72). But perhaps most interesting is that with the TS2, Kim averaged five yards more off the tee (294.8) and was nearly 30 percentage points (82.14%) higher in Driving Accuracy (compared to his 2017-18 season average).

While these stats would be impressive if you were going from an off-the-shelf driver to a custom fit setup, it’s even more remarkable knowing that Kim, as a Titleist staffer, has been playing with equipment that’s optimized for him and that these improvements can largely be attributed to the new TS2 driver head.

So while the TS2/TS3 drivers have only been out in play for the past month, things are looking very good for the new Titleist metal woods. The only question now is when will these be released to the public?
