Every year the Waste Management Phoenix Open brings us golf fans lots of cool, crazy, and exciting moments. This year was no different from ace’s to fan interactions and everything in between.

Here is a list of our top 5 best moments from the 2022 WMPO!

Joel is a character out on the golf course and this is no exception to that. Him eating up being called Harris English is hilarious. You can see on his face as the announcer went on and on he thought it was more and more funny. Even his caddie Geno and CC Sabathia were loving it.

The announcer was lucky that he did this with Joel and not Rory Sabbatini because I don’t think Rory would’ve had a similar reaction to Joel’s.

#4- Kid Runs Fans and Fence Over in Golf Cart

This dad really has to be kicking himself for letting his son get behind the wheel of this golf cart. Of course the kid was going to try and drive the cart. I’m going to have to put all of the blame here on the dad.

If he was going to let his son get behind the wheel he should’ve at least checked to see if the key was in the ignition of the cart. Either way this was an absolutely all time chip from the weekend and lets just hope that everyone is alright.

#3- Carlos Ortiz Aces the 16th Hole on Sunday

Making a hole-in-one on the PGA TOUR has to be one of the best feelings in the whole world. Now add the hole that you made the ace on being the iconic “loudest hole in golf” 16 at the WMPO. This has to be one of the best holes to make a hole-in-one on, on the PGA TOUR besides probably 17 at TPC Sawgrass and any of the par 3’s at Augusta National.

The crowd going nuts and showering the hole was iconic as well and something Ortiz will never forget. Or let’s hope he doesn’t forget it because he doesn’t have the ball to remember it by since he threw that into the stands.

#2- Sam Ryder Makes the First Ace on the 16th Hole in 7 Years

Although Ortiz’s ace was awesome to watch, Sam Ryder’s was better. Ryder’s hole-in-one on 16 Saturday was the first hole in one made on that hole during the tournament since Francesco Molinari made on back in 2015. The first ace in 7 years on that hole and Ryder’s celebration was more than fitting.

I loved seeing him and his caddie instantly jump into each others arms and celebrate. Then we saw the first set of beer showers on the week. It was awesome to watch Ryder soak up the moment and take it all in as he walked his way up to the green.

#1- Harry Higgs and Joel Dahmen Take Their Shirts Off and Run Around the Green on 16 to Celebrate Par

This undoubtedly was the best moment of the week by far and it wasn’t even close. It was absolutely hilarious to see Higgs pull up his shirt as soon as he knew his putt was going in the hole. Then when we thought it was all done Dahmen took his off and started waving it in the air and Higgs started running around the green.

This was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on a golf course, let alone during a PGA TOUR event and I don’t think it will ever be topped.

Those are our top 5 best moments from the WMPO.

Do you agree with the list or do you think other moments should’ve made the cut?
