TRENDING: John Daly Has Officially Withdrawn from Open Championship
Recently the R &A came to a decision regarding John Daly’s request to use at cart at the Open Championship. Their answer was a firm no. Obviously Daly wasn’t happy about this and he voiced his displeasure with the decision, but he was going to give it a go anyway. Was being the keyword. On Monday Daly tweeted out that he had become the victim of a spider attack.

Fast forward to Friday, mouth/mouth, compressions & unknowingly now in an ambulance rushed to ER all while on family vacation & straight into surgery! Removing what developed into a major infection in my abdominal area & treated for early sepsis all from a brown recluse! Thk u
With his damaged knees and recent infection from the Brown Recluse bite, Daly has officially withdrawn from the tournament. With Daly’s WD comes good news for another tour veterans. Kevin Streelman will replace Daly in the field at Portrush. Streelman revived the email following Daly’s official withdrawal offering him a spot.

Streelman will be competing in Daly’s place on July 18th when the Open Championship officially begins at Royal Portrush In Northern Ireland.
