TRENDING: Srixon Debuts Z-Star ♦ Diamond Golf Ball
Options are great in life, and nobody should be forced to only pick from vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
Likewise, golf ball manufacturers, specifically Titleist and more recently Callaway, have been making it a priority to develop as many unique Tour models as possible to ensure that every golfer has something that best suits their game, whether that means needing a high spin ball off the tee or a high flying, no-spin knuckleball.
Srixon is now adding a third option to its Tour ball lineup, which already consists of the Z-Star—the softer, higher-spinning 3-piece ball—and Z-Star XV—the firmer, low-spin 4-piece ball.

The Z-Star ♦ Diamond is the Goldilocks-option. The 3-piece ball takes the technological benefits of the Z-Star and Z-Star XV, and blends them into a single, tour-caliber golf ball that is developed around Srixon’s FastLayer Core, which is soft at its center and firm around its outer edge. That duality provides speed and great feel so everyone can play with more confidence and distance.
On the outside, the Z-Star ♦ Diamond featuers Srixon’s proprietary Spin Skin with SeRM, a durable urethane coating that digs deep into wedge and iron grooves on every impact to increase friction and maximize spin and control.
Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development at Srixon said:
“By working closely with our global Tour staff, we created the Z-STAR DIAMOND ball as an enhancement to our premium Tour lineup… The Z-STAR DIAMOND is something of a best-of-both-worlds type product, blending many of the benefits of our two current models. Like the Z-STAR XV, the Z-STAR DIAMOND produces really good ball speed and distance. But thanks to a slightly thicker cover, the Z-STAR DIAMOND features exceptional spin and control on approach shots.”
The Z-Star ♦ Diamond’s spin characteristics make it the ideal ball for high-speed players looking to hold the green from anywhere on the course.

Notably, the Z-Star ♦ Diamond was one of the primary factors the led Brooks Koepka to join Team Srixon. “Z-STAR DIAMOND is a game-changer for me,” said Brooks Koepka. “This golf ball was a major driver in joining Srixon and it’s been a seamless transition. The performance is really impressive, and I feel confident heading into the new tour season.”
Setting aside the marketing fluff, it cannot be understated how important it is when a TOUR players commits to a golf ball. As we all know, the golf ball is the only piece of equipment used on every shot and, as demonstrated by the countless options, there are hundreds of different balls that all do something a little different from the next. Consequently, having the right ball can be the difference between flying home on a Friday and hoisting a trophy on a Sunday.
Srixon’s Z-Star ♦ Diamond will officially launch for retail on January 21, 2022 at a price of $45 per dozen. And now might be the perfect time to not only grab the Z-Star ♦ Diamond, but also every other option you’re contemplating to make sure you’re using the golf ball that best suits you to game in 2022.
