By this point you have seen the “Greenskeeper’s Revenge” clip on the Golficity social channels. If you haven’t, I’ve added it here to refresh your memory.

@golficity

Many of you asked how did the ball stop there to begin with? Well the truth is that it didn’t originally.

The putt was from above the hole and my guy Vrska (@vgolfman) lagged it up like he was supposed to. When it came to a stop or should have anyway, it broke hard left and rolled down the hill 20 feet.

I know this because, I was there.

Seeing this, I gave my putt a little extra gusto and planned for it to stop around the hole for a tap in. Just like Vrksa’s first putt, when it should have stopped it broke hard and rolled back down the hill. That’s when we decided to do a little experiment since there was nobody behind us.

In case you where wondering, the last putt banked off the flagstick. Since its’s legal to leave it in whenever you want and then thanks to the hill, it rolled back into the hole to save par.

Is there such a thing as an illegal pin placement?

Technically no but if there was, this greenskeeper would need a public defender.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
