TRUE’s 5-Pocket and Chino Pants Are Truly Impressive
Everyone loves the underdog company, and TRUE linkswear has weathered the storm. After Jason and Ryan Moore purchased the company outright in 2017, TRUE has turned itself around by developing and releasing fresh products that provide comfort in a package that looks equally at home on and off the course.

It is this ethos—that golf products can equally fit into casual, even professional, environments—that has helped TRUE pen its next chapter. Last year, TRUE released some of its first apparel with the All Day 5-Pocket Pant and All Day Chino.
Both pants feature a 4-way stretch material that is weather resistant, which makes sense that TRUE hails from the Pacific Northwest—where weather can turn from friendly to foe in an instant. Both also feature a Slim Fit, but not European, pencil-leg slim. This is, instead, an “American” Slim that even someone with a quad-dominant build can fit comfortably in due to the 4-way stretch fabric.
A true testament to the 4-way stretch was that I decided to wear thermals underneath the 5-Pocket and Chino during some colder fall/spring rounds. Neither bunched up nor felt crowded with the extra material underneath.

The 5-Pocket Pants and Chino have very similar designs that remind you of a pair of business-casual pants. The matte finish and variety of colors—ranging from khaki to charcoal—mean they can easily pair with a t-shirt, button-up, or golf polo, depending on what the moment calls for. Otherwise, both feature a deep cell phone/passport pocket in the front—which has all but become a necessity with oversized phones—and zippered rear pocket.
What matters most is what TRUE prioritizes is comfort, and I am happy to report that both pants are very, very comfortable, even when you’re wearing them from sun up to sun down (which I’ve done frequently to squeeze in those cherished after-work 9-hole rounds). The 4-way stretch means that neither pants are tugging or restricting your movement, whether you’re sitting down at your desk or accelerating through your downswing on that par-5 you want to reach in two. And this is where I think TRUE’s 5-Pocket and Chino pants shine.
Most of my golf pants have a slight shine to them (due to waterproofing) or fit noticeably different. TRUE, however, found a way to make their golf pants look like the commuter-style pants that are becoming increasingly popular as a more dressed/business-casual alternative to jeans, which means they’re perfect wherever you decide to wear them.

The 5-Pocket—available in black, charcoal, coffee, khaki, and olive colorways—and Chino—available in black, charcoal, coffee, khaki, lunar, and olive colorways—both retail at $125 and come in waist sizes ranging from 28 to 38 (both come in a 32” inseam, regardless of what waist size you go with).
While some may complain that $125 is steep for golf pants, I strongly believe you should try a pair before passing judgment because you’ll never be as comfortable on the golf course in your $50 GAP khakis as you will be in your TRUE pants, which also fit in perfectly at the office.
When TRUE’s frequent deals, like any two pants for $100, are combined with the comfort, quality, and usage you’ll get out of the 5-Pocket and Chino, these become a top option for anyone who lives that dual personality of employee by weekday, golfing addict by weekend.
