Twitter Lights Up After Tiger’s Swing Tips at College Shoot

Tiger Woods showed up and surprised a load of college golfers during Bridgestone’s shoot this week, and the range feedback didn’t disappoint.

Initially keeping a low profile, Tiger couldn’t help himself when analysing the college players swing. The favourite quote from the swing-fixing session (regarding the golf swing) is now the push out backswing ‘which dumps you under for the occasional shoot up spin cut’. What a phrase.

He also gave the guys some feedback on preparing for tournaments, including ‘1000 contacts’ with the golf club in the days leading up to the event. This could include 100 full swings, 300 chip shots and 600 putts, but all helped to develop ‘feel and sensation that never goes away’.

This was a real eye opener, the idea of 1000 contacts with a golf ball probably exceeds what most amateurs get in a month, or a summer season. It explains why Tiger was so dominant for so long.

I predict the college guys at the BridgeStone shoot would have stayed on the range a few extra hours after his little tips and tricks, grooving their swings.

We’re all set to see the man himself at the Hero World later this week; the comeback is on.
