Viktor Hovland Find His New Coach After Parting Ways With Joey Mayo
Viktor Hovland has found his newest swing coach in Grant Waite, a former PGA Tour member, after parting ways with short game guru Joey Mayo last month.
Hovland was one of the best players on Tour last year, shooting an incredible final round 61 to steal the BMW Championship and eventually taking home the FedEx Cup at East Lake the following week.
Joey Mayo worked with Hovland last year, improving the Norwegian’s short game and helping him eliminate mistakes, taking his game to a new level.
However, Hovland and Mayo parted ways last month in what was considered a shocking move.

Now it seems he has found his newest coach, according to the New Zealand Herald, which reported Hovland has taken on Kiwi Grant Waite.
Waite had a 13-year career on the Tour. He won a single event, the Kemper Open in 1993, and finished second to Tiger Woods in the 2000 Canadian Open.
Waite has turned into one of the more sought-after coaches in the professional game after leaving his status as a player. He has helped names like Charles Howell III, Trevor Immelman, Mike Weir, D.A. Points, and Billy Lunde with their games in the past.
Viktor Hovland LIV Golf Rumors
Hovland has been the subject of recent defection rumors, as LIV Golf continues to disrupt the PGA Tour and steal notable names. Tyrrell Hatton signed with the Saudi-backed golf league early this week.
“Not true,” Hovland responded during rumors this past weekend.
It appears we will get to see Hovland’s body of work with Waite this year on the PGA Tour.
