Viktor Hovland has a broken toe, but the Norwegian has plans to play this week in Hawaii at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Hovland revealed around Christmas that he broke his toe — not snowboarding, not playing soccer — but walking in his house and banging his foot on his bedframe.

Hovland revealed the injury on Instagram with the caption, “Bed frame 1 – 0 me.”

He was not the only player to experience an injury leading up to the event. Scottie Scheffler needed a procedure done on his hand after cutting his palm on Christmas. The injury will keep him from flying to Kapalua and competing this week.

Despite the broken toe, Hovland still has plans to play this week.

He said that he will be taking several steps to avert a WD:

“I’m hoping that taping it up and painkillers will be enough to get me through the week.”

Eurosport first reported Hovland’s plans to combat the broken toe.

Hovland is still seeking his first Major Championship but is hoping the trip to Maui will bring him his seventh PGA TOUR win. He was winless in 2024, and his last victory was at the TOUR Championship in August 2023.
