Vokey Design WedgeWorks Brings First-Ever K* Grind Lob Wedge
Vokey Design WedgeWorks is bringing the K* Grind Lob Wedge to the market for the first time ever.
A popular grind with many TOUR pros, the K* Lob Wedge is ideal for players with a neutral to shallow attack angle and play on various turf conditions.
What is the K* Grind?
Players on TOUR heavily requested the K* Grind as they wanted the sole of the popular Low Bounce K Grind Lob Wedge to be slightly different.

The original K Grind is full and smooth soled wedge, while the K* Grind features steeper pre-wear along the leading edge, along with heel, toe, and trailing edge relief.
How Does it Work?
The steeper pre-wear is used to add forgiveness from the square-faced position, and a narrow ribbon of added bounce helps resist excess digging into the turf, which is why it is ideal for those who have a steep angle of attack.
When you need to get the ball in the air and open the face, the heel, toe, and trailing edge relief on the K* Grind helps the leading edge sit closer to the ground and adds versatility for any shot in your arsenal.

Who is Using It?
The K* Grind was actually drummed up after a conversation between Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill and Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson.
Dill details their talk:
“Webb was not one to make many changes to his wedges. As conditions shifted on tour and we introduced different soles in our line, Webb was motivated to test additional grind options that could offer some forgiveness. This led to Webb in 2015 testing a 60 K Grind, and while this was a great wedge, it still was missing a key element important to him: versatility from tighter lies. Webb and I worked on the sole, adding relief, testing different bounce angles, and ultimately landing on most of the modifications we see today in the K*.”
Now, the K* Grind is in the hands of players like Justin Thomas, Cam Young, and Ludvig Åberg.

Young has both a 58-degree and 60-degree K* wedge in his bag, and used them both to fire a 59 at the Travelers Championship earlier this year.
