Is it appropriate to dub the team as the “Dream Team”, named after the famous 1992 Olympic Basketball squad that was so dominant?

Well, I’d suggest that the similarities between the two are far greater than the differences. The Dream Team was said to be “the greatest collection of basketball talent on the planet,” by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.

Can the same be said about Team USA this year?

If you consider the fashion that Team USA went on to win by, including how they performed in each event, it’s safe to say that this could quite possibly be the greatest collection of golf talent on the planet.

From Scottie Scheffler knocking off a blazing hot Jon Rahm, to Bryson Dechambeau asserting his dominance over Ryder Cup hero Sergio Garcia by driving the first green, this years Ryder Cup team just outmatched Team Europe, plain and simple. And, according to CNBC, the team wasn’t just good, but historically good.

“The 10-point winning margin is the biggest since players from continental Europe were allowed to compete in the Ryder Cup in 1979, breaking the previous record of 18.5-9.5 set by USA in 1981 and Europe in both 2004 and 2006.” CNBC said in an article discussing the beatdown.

Since the current Ryder Cup matchup between the US and continental Europe was instituted, this is the biggest win in US Ryder Cup History.

Can you really argue with the stats?

Whether on paper or the “eye-test”, Team USA really proved that they should be in the discussion for the best Ryder Cup team that the United States has ever put together.
