WATCH: Bryson DeChambeau Whacking One-Handed Drives Coming Off Wrist Surgery

Bryson DeChambeau has had a 2022 to forget so far. The 2020 U.S. Open winner has had an injury-plagued year, with a 25th-place finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions being the only cut he’s made all year after finishing fifth in the FedEx Cup standings last year.

He has been dealing with a torn labrum in his hip for a couple of years. Still, he aggravated that injury and hurt his wrist when slipping on a marble floor while playing table tennis at the Saudi Invitational. He took some time off but still wasn’t right, missing the cut at the Masters by shooting 12-over in the first two rounds.

After that performance, he decided to get surgery to fix a fracture in his wrist.

DeChambeau said the injury forced him to alter his grip and swing, resulting in poor results.

But while he’s not expected to play competitively for a couple of months (perhaps at the U.S. Open in June after missing next month’s PGA Championship), the surgery hasn’t been able to keep the heavy hitter off the course.

In addition to this driving range shot, it appears DeChambeau was playing a round with former NFL kicker Josh Scobee.

While he won’t be able to contend against the pros with such a swing, it’s good to see one of the more colorful characters on the PGA Tour teeing it up like the rest of us!
