Wednesday Night Tilt: Farmers Insurance Open

Published

on

Welcome Back to the Wednesday Night Tilt and buddy I’ll tell ya going 3-0 in match-ups last week is just a delight. Watching all the money roll in just after the referees decided to screw all of America and their saints (-3) bets was a much needed boost.

This week we’ve got the Farmer’s Insurance Open with 3 rounds on Torrey Pines south and a round on the north course. Tiger is seeing his first action of the year on the course that has seen nothing but dominance from him. 8 Wins in 17 events, including a US Open victory that I will argue was the greatest sporting performance off all time, hands down.

Outright Winner (0-lifetime): Tony Finau (+1800)

Winners at Torrey tend to be long ball guys who also find greens. The guy in this category who, I believe, we all want to see win is Tony Finau. Would love to see him get his second win after being the perennial bridesmaid all last year.

Unreal amounts of money were lost when he somehow made the Masters cut after rolling his ankle at the par -3 contest. Could have been one of those stories like Tiger in ’08 but instead that scumbag Patrick Reed gets the Green Jacket. Remember when the PGA put his tickets in the boonies at the Red Sox game last year? Because nobody wanted to sit by him and his mean wife?

Yeah I remember. Anyway, sprinkle some cash on Finau and lets get this guy launched into his prime.

Matchups (4-2)

Alex Noren (EV) vs Jordan Spieth

I am SHOCKED by this line. We have Jordan Spieth, who was just saying 2 weeks ago how uncomfortable he is on the course because of some swing work. Then we have Alex Noren who is a great long ball hitter and finished runner up here last year. So obviously this line is set based on popularity. Double, maybe even triple your bet because this is what we call “free money”.

Jon Rahm (-120) vs Jason Day

The basis of this bet completely comes from the fact that Day just had his third child a few months ago so there is absolutely no way he’s been practicing as much. I don’t blame the guy but I will take advantage of Rahm being red hot and getting a great line against a very occupied Day. Ill also be doubling up my bet here.

Tony Finau (-115) vs Rickie Fowler

Rickie Fowler STINKS at Torrey Pines. His last 4 starts here are CUT, CUT, CUT, T61. Tony Finau has been T6 and T4 in his last two years. This line is only this close because his name is Rickie Fowler and that sickens me. There is a 100% chance this bet hits. We might even see Finau win the thing outright.

This may be the best I’ve felt about picks in awhile, so you can pretty much book these all losing.
