The West Point Golf Course in West Point, NY is minutes from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where Cadets have been training and studying since 1802.  Surrounded by spectacularly scenic mountains, the “hilly” terrain and uneven lies of this course will certainly challenge your game.   To get the most of its aesthetic beauty, try to play this course in the fall when you’ll be engulfed in the beautiful foliage that paints the surrounding mountains in vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds.  Adding even more to the experience, if you play this track on a weekday, you’ll likely see Army cadets jumping from helicopters during parachute training.

Measuring at 6,000 yards from the tips for a par of 70, this tight fairway course contains very few flat lies which makes for a number of difficult approach shots.   With a course rating of 68.6 and a slop of 126, don’t let the short yardage fool you.  Laser-accuracy shots will be required on some of the holes to keep you from losing a ball in the mountains.

When waiting to hit your tee shot on each hole, be sure to check out the hole markers for a true “history lesson.”  History buffs will enjoy the fact that hole marker discusses the details of a different conflict from history.
