Who is on Tiger Woods’ Mt. Rushmore of Golf (SPOILER, HE IS)

Fresh off the TOUR Championship win, you can bet Tiger’s confidence is boosting.  But even before the win we can all agree his face would be a ‘Mt. Rushmore of Golf’ face; right?

The win was Tiger’s first in over five years and capped off an unbelievable comeback for the former number one player in the world so he certainly has the right to be high on himself at the moment. That confidence is especially good to see for the United States as he looks to anchor the team at the Ryder Cup this week in Paris. Some might say he’s a little too confident right now, however.

In preparation for arguably the biggest event in golf this year, the PGA of America is doing interviews with some of the participants and asking them relatively fun and straightforward questions. When Tiger was up for the interview, he was asked who he would put on his Mt. Rushmore of golf and he gave a surprisingly honest answer.

Going through the names in his head, Tiger started by quickly putting Sam Snead as number one. Then after thinking a little more, he added Bobby Jones, then Jack Nicklaus. He ended by saying he would put himself as the fourth and final member. This has caused some to question whether it’s ok for someone to put their own name on the list but honestly, how can you not?

Tiger is second in career major victories, just won his 80th tournament on the PGA TOUR and holds several records. I know it may be a not so humble brag but everyone knows Tiger belongs on that list. If there’s an argument to be made, I would say Arnold Palmer deserves a spot on that list somewhere as well as maybe Gary Player, Ben Hogan, and Seve Ballesteros but it seems to be a pretty strong Mt. Rushmore if you ask me.

It’s crazy that something this minuscule has taken the spotlight at the Ryder Cup but it definitely is an interesting question to ask, regardless if you think Tiger was being too pompous. Let us know if you think there should be any other names on that list or if Tiger nailed it.
