This may be the best golf entertainment news ever. According to deadline.com:

“Will Ferrell & Jessica Elbaum’s Gloria Sanchez Productions and Rian Johnson & Ram Bergman’s T-Street have teamed up to develop a comedy TV series as a starring vehicle for Ferrell, I have learned. There is a new golf show in the works that will star Will Ferrell. What we know so far is that Ferrell will be the face of a new golf league”

Sound familiar?

If the writers pull from the drama between the PGA Tour and LIV, we could have an absolute hit on our hands. The potent soundbites and clips from Ferrell alone would be worth watching this potential show.

We definitely need some golf cameos, and no, I don’t mean PGA Players. I want to see just one short scene of Happy Gilmore seeing the news breaking about the new Leauge and making some kind of comment.

We also need Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy as an analyst and his former caddy Romeo as an on-course reporter. The banter between these two would be amazing!

We also need good casting. There needs to be actors on this show that can play a little but also remind us of some golf legends. Who doesn’t want to see Ben Stiller in a Phil Mickelson role? I saw this reference the other day, and now I can’t unsee it!

The show still has to be created, but it sounds amazing. If the writers need any other ideas, I’ve got more.

What would you like to see in a show like this, and would you watch it?

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
