Will Zalatoris, Scottie Scheffler Ditch Scotty Cameron Putters for Hero World Challenge
Will Zalatoris and Scottie Scheffler have both decided to take the Scotty Cameron putters they have used for the past few years out of their bags in favor of new flatsticks for the Hero World Challenge.
Both Zalatoris and Scheffler have used Cameron putters for the past few years: Will with a Scotty Cameron T-11 Proto, and Scottie with a Special Select Timeless Tourtype GSS Tour Prototype.
We see Zalatoris’s putter here:

And Scheffler’s here:
Scottie Scheffler went back to the Scotty Cameron Special Select Tourtype GSS over the weekend in Mexico. The result? 68-62.

Zalatoris and Scheffler have both been players with notable struggles on the green. Because Zalatoris missed last year, we used his statistics from the previous year, where he ranked 103rd in Strokes Gained: Putting, while ranking 1st in Approach to Green and 11th Off the Tee.
Scheffler, on the other hand, ranked 162nd in Strokes Gained through Putting last year. He was 1st in every other category related to Strokes Gained.
In September, Scheffler, who has been the number one player in the world by a long shot over the past few seasons, only challenged by Jon Rahm, admitted that he was trying to fix his putting the wrong way.
His consistency faltered as his fundamentals went astray, but it seems that a club change might be the correct option. Same for Zalatoris, who is coming off a season-long break due to a back injury that required surgery.
Will Zalatoris is moving to an L.A.B Putter
Zalatoris is using an L.A.B. Golf Mezz.1 Max, a broomstick putter that is machined from a billet of 6061 aircraft aluminum and 303 stainless steel.

L.A.B. writes about the putter:
“Outrageous stability. Now available for Standard-Length, Counter-Balanced, ArmLock, and Broomstick builds.”
It retails for $559.
L.A.B. offers some of the most customizable options in golf, and with Zalatoris using a larger putter head in the past, perhaps he was looking to gain total control over his stroke through a putter change
Scottie Scheffler has an Olson in the bag
Scheffler has moved to a similar look to the Scotty Cameron he was using with an Olson, a small brand out of Fortuna, California.
Something to watch: Scottie Scheffler has a new putter in the bag this week — but it’s something different. From what I can tell, he’s testing a blade from Olson, a bespoke brand out of Fortuna, Calif.

It is interesting to see Scheffler go to something that looks very similar to the Cameron Special Select that he used previously.
Blade putters are more difficult to hit but offer a better feel than most. Scheffler has experimented with TaylorMade Spider putters in the past as well, but it appears he prefers a blade.
