YIKES: Golfer Survives Elk Attack During Round Of Golf

Have you ever played golf and seen a cute, cuddly animal that let you get close to it? I wouldn’t call Elk’s cute, but they are all over the course in Evergreen, Colorado. These massive creatures cover the course and for one golfer, they didn’t let him play through.

Zak Bornhoft was playing a round with his buddies when a bull charged their cart. Unfortunately for Zak, the bulls antler went into his body, cutting his kidney in half. Lucky for Zak, he was able to get to the hospital and the surgeons where able to save his life. Three inches one way or the other and it would have ended badly for him.

“The doctor told me three inches either way we wouldn’t be sitting here. He said it would have been better to have been stabbed with a knife because of the dirt on the elk antlers,” said Zak’s wife.

I’m glad this guy was able to survive this incident. Next time I see a big ass deer chilling on the fairway, I’m skipping the hole. Just kidding, I’m never in the fairway.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
