Young South Korean Star Tom Kim Signs with Nike
Tom Kim’s start to his career on the PGA Tour has been quite successful in the very short time he has been competing. Kim didn’t have status on the PGA Tour until he won the Wyndham Championship in August, shooting a stellar final round, 61 to win by five shots. Not only that, he made a quadruple bogey on his first hole of this tournament to add to this impressive performance.
Tom Kim won again for the second time in October. While doing so, he beat one of Tiger Woods’ records by winning twice before turning 21 years old. However, Woods accomplished the same feat, but Kim was able to do it, being six months younger. They are the only two professionals to do it in PGA Tour history.

It really is no surprise to see Kim ink a deal with Nike as he looks up to Woods in regards to the outstanding accomplishments he has been able to achieve. He has even taken a page out of Tiger’s book to not pay attention to the amount of money he won. This approach to focus on trophies over money could pay dividends for the young man.
