Zalatoris Tells Tiger: “Swallow Your Pride & Get In The Damn Cart”

Everyone wants to see Tiger play competitively more than 4 times a year at the Majors, but I don’t think anybody is willing to help facilitate that more than Will Zalatoris.

During an interview with Graham Bensinger, Zalatoris talked about his growth on the TOUR, goals for the future (winning a Major), and, most important for golf junkies, his interest in playing with Tiger Woods. 

Speaking about Tiger, Zalatoris noted that he’d love to play with him at least once before he calls it quits.  And to make sure that happens, Zalatoris begged that he “get in the damn cart” under a medical exemption that could, very well, help extend his career.

Despite his pleas, Zalatoris was quick to acknowledge that, “Tiger could get a cart if he wants to. But you know he’s never going to take it. Because that’s who he is.”

The first 2023 Major—the Masters—is approximately 200 days away, and who knows how many times we’ll see Tiger play beforehand.   But hopefully, he hears Zalatoris’ statements and considers, at the very least, using a cart in the non-Major events so he can help preserve his legs and compete on a more frequent, regular basis.
