10 Golf Twitter Accounts You Should be Following
The from dramatic rants to hilarious personal photos, the Twittersphere has opened up a whole new way to connect and engage with our favorite golf celebrities. With that said, here are our top 10 golf Twitter accounts that every golf fan should be following
1.) Ian Poulter @IanJamesPoulter
Social media for golf fans doesn’t get any better than Ian James Poulter’s Twitter feed. The guy loves to post about his personal and social life, family news, and golf related events/commercials. Poulter shares everything from his Ferrari photos to his haircuts in a comical, yet classy manner. This guy is definitely worth following and who knows… you may pick up some style ideas from him.
2.) Luke Donald @LukeDonald
The former World No. 1 doesn’t mind airing out his thoughts on Twitter including “naming names.” He’s even been known to angrily rip the design of golf courses when he doesn’t play well. With plenty of entertaining photo shares and a twist of dramatic flair, Luke Donald is certainly worth a follow.
3.) Paula Creamer @ThePCreamer
Not only is Paula Creamer an excellent golfer and a positive role model, she also has “10” written all over her in the looks department. Twitter lets us follow her numerous successes and on and off course and we just can’t get enough of it!
4.) Stewart Cink @stewartcink
Since being referenced in the lyrics for the recent Golf Boys 2.0 (I got a drippy faucet in my Stewey, Stewey Cink), Cink’s name has began popping up often in the golf social media world. With a keen sense of humor – i.e. tweeting his take on “Crazy Sock Day” at the Shell Houston Open last week – Stewart is worth following for some entertaining tweets.
5.) Ricky Fowler @RickieFowlerPGA
Rickie loves to entertain and engage his fans with stories, pictures, and other insights into his personal life. He also has one of the most active followings due to his propensity to tweet and retweet his fans directly. Every Friday he has Fowler Fridays, and highlights one fan on his twitter feed as the “Fan of the Week”. We love this guy…
6.) Dustin Johnson @DJohnsonPGA
At first we began following DJ to see where he could possibly squeeze in another exclamation point (DJ is seemingly making a bid for outright king of punctuation) and to follow his schedule. But once Paulina Gretzky came into the picture as DJ’s new squeeze, we began to follow more closely…
7.) David Feherty @Fehertwit
For those of you who don’t know David Feherty, well then, you’re just not really into Pro golf. Feherty has his own show on the Golf Channel where he interviews players and pro athletes and he also covers many events as an announcer. His wacky and off-beat humor makes his Tweets quite comical, and if you use his “voice” while reading them, it makes his Twitter feed that much better.
8.) Bubba Watson @bubbawatson
Over 851,000 people follow Bubba and for a good reason…he’s pretty hysterical. From sharing his photos about the latest “Dufnering” to other personal life events and wacky photos, Bubba certainly knows how to keep us yearning for more insight into this 2012 Masters champion’s world. If you’re not already following Bubba, you need to start now…
9.) Holly Sonders @holly_sonders
The goddess of Golf Channel. Need we say anymore?
10.) Ben Crane @bencranegolf
Ben Crane is the comedic genius mastermind behind the “Golf Boys” social media sensation Just take one look at his eccentric Twitter feed and we guarantee you’ll be hooked. From photobombs to bloopers Ben is the ultimate representation of the lighter side of professional golf.
