EQUIPMENT: Does Callaway’s Triple Track Ball Actually Work?

You’ve seen it. You spotted it in the pro shop or found one in the woods while looking for your ball. I’m talking about Callaway’s Chromesoft with the built in Triple Track Technology.

These things are not new to the golf space. They launched in 2019 but they have definitely peaked my curiosity.

What looks like an over use of alignment lines on the golfball is actually science. It’s called Vernier acuity. “the ability to detect the alignment or lack of alignment of the two parts of a broken line”.

So what this means as far as I understand it if the lines on the ball look to be in alignment with the lines on your putter, then the ball should go where it’s aimed.

If not, something isn’t aligned correctly and your odds of missing the putt just went up. I wanted to test this for myself so I took a sleeve of these babies to the course to do my own putting test.

What I learned is that the technology behind this actually works. I don’t know if it was forcing me to make sure I planned each putt better or they gave me the biggest probability of success.

What I do know is that those very long lag putts had a better chance of stopping near the hole. The par and birdie putts dropped easier and if I could keep the damn ball in play, I would be on my way to better scores.

When paired with a putter that also has the Triple Track Technology, lining up putts becomes a breeze. We’ve all heard the phrase “never up, never in.”

If it’s not aimed right, you better hope the golf gods help you out because your chances of making it have gone way down. I personally don’t have an Odyssey putter with this technology but my putter was a able to work with this ball nicely.

If you already play the Chromesoft ball, you should definitely give these a try. If struggle with putting they may be the little equipment change you need to get your game to the next level.

I’m an average golfer and I’m definitely not going to light up the greens on the PGA Tour anytime soon.  This ball definitely helps get me closer to at least winning some money off my buddies.

Averaging 9 holes between three putts, nearly 90% make inside 3 feet and only having 34 putts with a horrible proximity to the hole is a good sign in my book. These balls are available at all major retailers or most pro shops.

Pick up a sleeve or two sometime and try them for yourself. If you’ve used them, I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

They worked for me and I’m confident they will work for you.
