Sergio Garcia Potentially in Hot Water after Abandoning BMW PGA Championship
If you’re familiar with the TV show “Seinfeld,” you might remember Jerry trying to return a suit because he didn’t like the person who sold it to him.
As it turned out, you can’t return clothing to that store out of spite.

I do not own this video or any of the names involved with it, I am simply passing on the comedy
It also appears that you cannot withdraw from a DP World Tour event out of spite either.
While we haven’t heard from Sergio Garcia who left Wentworth Golf & Club after a first-round 76 last week, it certainly appears that 42-year-old Spaniard’s reason for leaving wasn’t for “emergency reasons or medical circumstances deemed reasonable by the tournament director,” which is what is written in the DP World Tour rulebook.
While Garcia’s camp hasn’t given an official reason yet, the 2017 Masters champ was seen on the field in Austin, Texas for the Alabama vs. Texas college football game on Saturday at the same time that round 3 of the BMW PGA Championship was taking place.

The DP World Tour confirmed to Telegraph Sport that if Garcia’s camp doesn’t provide a legitimate excuse for the withdrawal in the next three weeks, he will be fined.
Garcia, who has been outspoken against both the PGA and DP World Tours since joining LIV Golf over the summer, is taking part in LIV’s fifth event this weekend in Chicago.
