SPOTTED: New Callaway “Triple Diamond” Drivers Photos Leaked

A few weeks ago, Callaway Golf announced that it would be debuting its 2024 driver lineup on January 3, 2024.

But it seems that we may not have to wait until then to get a preview of the upcoming Paradym Ai Smoke lineup.

In addition to the MAX and Triple Diamond models that we spotted earlier this month, two additional models were recently spotted: a Triple Diamond PLUS and Triple Diamond MAX.

It is important to note that the Triple Diamond was, previously, a Tour-exclusive offering from Callaway that featured certain characteristics, like a fade-biased design, that appealed to the über-skilled golfers.  So it is interesting to see that Callaway may, arguably, be watering down the Triple Diamond lineup with additional models with this moniker.

That said, these newly-spotted models share many of the features that we identified in the previously spotted Ai Smoke MAX and Triple Diamond:  a grey/black forged carbon finish, with white and metallic blue accenting.  And perhaps most noteworthy is that now all four models do not appear to feature Jailbreak bars on the sole—a cornerstone technology for Callaway drivers since 2017 when it first debuted in the Great Big Bertha (GBB) Epic.

I anticipate that, like the Paradym, Callaway is not ditching the technology, but instead cuing up the release of the next evolution of A.I. designed Jailbreak that, in all likelihood, is lighter, stronger and more effective at promoting high ball speeds.

And now that we have four potential new models, we can also try to pick apart some of the finer visual details in the hopes of deciphering the focus of each of the respective models. Notably, the MAX appears to feature both front and rear positioned weights, with the difference between the MAX and Triple Diamond MAX being that the former features an adjustable weight, whereas the weight on the latter is fixed.

Conversely, the Triple Diamond PLUS is now the only model without a front positioned weight. This suggests that PLUS could be a high-MOI (forgivness) and/or higher-ball flight model, so it will be interesting to see how the PLUS complements, rather than conflicts with, the MAX models.

That said, the Triple Diamond and Triple Diamond MAX appear to visually be very similar, with both featuring fixed front and rear weights. As a result, I suspect that there are subtle differences in face orientation between the two models that would differentiate the ball flight bias of the two models.

While its still early, it is also worth noting that the 2022 Mavrik—Mavrik, Mavrik Sub Zero and Mavrik Triple Diamond—and 2023 Paradym—Paradym, Paradym X and Paradym Triple Diamond—lineups each consisted of only three models (Note: the Epic Max lineup was initially three models as well, but the Triple Diamond was later released to the public market, making it a fourth option).

And while these pre-release photos do not confirm anything, it seems that Callaway may be bringing a much wider range of driver models to market in 2024.
