Kirkland Signature Golf Balls Might Not Be What You Think They Are
Kirkland Signature Golf Balls have been all of the buzz for the past few years, as many people have commended Costco for getting on board with the game of golf by bringing a lineup of affordable clubs and accessories to market.
When Kirkland Signature Golf Balls hit the market, people raved and ranted about their performance, feel, and similarities to high-end balls that were offered by the sport’s largest OEMs.
The thing about present-day golf is that product testing is widespread, analytic-based, and extremely accurate. When comparing one product to another, you see where some of the bargain brands fall short.
Kirkland Signature’s ball is one of the bargains you should avoid, according to MyGolfSpy, which tested the ball and gave it a score of 45 out of 100.

Although its compression score landed a 93 out of 100, which shows more firmness than a Titleist Pro V1, the publication’s tests showed the ball simply is not consistent enough, has high rates of spin, and is actually a root cause of inaccuracy from mis-hits.
People want a solid golf ball that feels good to them. In a recent review of Titleist’s 2024 golf ball lineup, I noted how the AVX became my ideal ball based on feel alone. I moved away from the Pro V1X due to the AVX’s low shot trajectory and soft feel. It is more ideal for my game.
However, balls go past feel and preference, and they vary in terms of overall performance. Additionally, you have to worry about balls that are simply “dead” when they come out of the box; every manufacturer deals with defects, and as golf ball production occurs on such a massive scale, it is no secret that there will be a few bad apples in the bunch. MyGolfSpy found 11% of balls to be what they consider “bad.”
When looking for a golf ball, if you are not too concerned about having top-of-the-line performance, there are bargain brands that will fit your budget and give you a solid ball for your needs.
If you’re hoping to shoot low and are a more dedicated golfer, it might be best to stick to something that is slightly more premium.
