Hudson Swafford Losing His Spot Is Among Early LIV Golf Offseason Moves
With the team concept fully in play, LIV Golf’s offseason closely resembles that of professional team sports.
With the free agency period approaching for the 13 LIV teams, four have already announced they’re returning as-is for 2025, and one former PGA Tour winner has been shown the door.
The LIV Golf League off season is under way with the free agency period looming, but 4 teams are confirmed to be keeping the same squads for 2025.

Hudson Swafford is out, according to the Flushing It account on X. Swafford is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour who joined LIV for its inaugural event in June 2022, just four months after winning The American Express even on the PGA Tour.
After missing 2023 due to a hip injury, Swafford couldn’t regain his form this past season, with his best result being a 36th in LIV’s first event of the year.
To make matters worse for Swafford, he’s ineligible to rejoin the PGA Tour for at least 12 months since he’s been indefinitely suspended since that first tournament over two years ago.
Some other early-offseason moves include Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC parting ways with Eugenio Chacarra, and Flushing It reported that Cleeks GC could be shifting toward a Scandinavian theme. In 2024, the team consisted of captain Martin Kaymer along with Richard Bland, Adrian Meronk, and Kalle Samooja. The status of Bubba Watson is also unclear.
Four teams announced they’re staying put: Cam Smith’s Ripper GC, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, Joaquin Niemann’s Torque GC, and Lee Westwood’s Majesticks GC.
It’s also believed that Anthony Kim, who had a special invite to play in the 2024 LIV season and wasn’t a member of a team, will return in 2025.
