Will These Equipment Changes Help Rickie Fowler Return to Form?
Rickie Fowler is still attempting to get back to his old form, and the fan favorite is making a few moves in terms of equipment and sponsors in hopes of reigniting his career.
Fowler signed a multi-year extension with Cobra Puma last week in a deal that was made official today by the manufacturer and the PLAYERS Champion.
Fowler commented:
“The COBRA PUMA Golf brands are like family to me. The clubs and apparel are as good as it gets and the fact that they know what I look for in fashion and style gives me extra confidence on and off the course. While their products are incredible, I also truly value all the relationships I’ve built here throughout my career. Extending this partnership was a simple decision and I’m excited to stay part of these amazing brands.”

Meanwhile, Cobra Puma President Dan Ladd said:
“We are thrilled to officially extend our relationship with Rickie and look forward to continuing our work with him for many years. Rickie is a special talent who brings a competitive spirit and style to the game that we absolutely love. We’re very excited to keep him in the fold and watch how his career continues to develop.”
This extension is about the only thing that is remaining with Fowler’s choices for 2025. He will be playing a new ball, new glove, and sport some new sponsors this season.
Rickie Goes to the Titleist Pro V1
Fowler said to Golfweek that he would be moving from the TaylorMade TP5x to the 2023 Titleist Pro V1. His deal with TaylorMade expired at the end of the year and he decided to not renew. He is not signed with Titleist, either, but felt he could benefit from trying different products from different manufacturers:
“Everyone makes great product these days and I felt like there were multiple options I could go play from different manufacturers.”
Grant Thorton Loses Spot on Rickie’s Polos
Ernst & Young has earned the spot where Grant Thorton used to be on Fowler’s polos. He said he parted with the firm “on good terms,” while EY was looking to increase their presence in the golf space:
“They were in a position where they wanted to get back into the golf space a bit more. Lucky for me I happened to be in the right place at the right time and everything came together organically.”
