Titleist GT1 Driver and Metalwoods – How They Can Improve Your Game
Titleist is launching its new GT1 driver and metalwoods today, becoming the latest OEM to bring out its lineup for the 2025 season.
The GT1 series is tour-validated and aimed at improving everything from launch, ball speed, and stability, offering yet another grouping of technologies that will help your scores go down and the quality of your game go up.
Stephanie Luttrell, Director of Titleist Metalwood Product Development, said:
“When we began thinking about how we evolve and improve upon the ‘1’ models, we started by tapping into our global network of fitting specialists to understand what it is that would really advance performance for GT1 players. The resounding feedback that we heard across the board for the driver, fairways and hybrids is that anything we can do to increase launch is going to help this player improve their overall trajectory, consistency and distance. Making the line launch higher, while maintaining optimal spin rates, is really going to benefit both the moderate speed player as well as the player that is naturally low spin.”
The main focus for Titleist with the GT1 lineup was reducing weight. Each of the clubs pack an ultra-lightweight configuration that helps increase launch for players with lower swing speeds, offering forgiveness and distance.
The drivers, fairways, and hybrids all offer the deepest Center of Gravity placements across the entire GT family.
Titleist GT1 Driver
The GT2, GT3, and GT4 series were launched last year, and the major breakthrough was weight savings thanks to the Seamless Thermoform Crown that is manufactured with Titleist’s Proprietary Matrix Polymer (PMP).
Along with this, the GT1 has Split Mass Construction, as weight has been strategically placed and distributed throughout the head for higher launch and optimal speed, spin, and stability.

Club head speed also increased thanks to a new head shape, something that has been a focus of other manufacturers this year.
The GT1 also has forgiveness in mind, as an upgraded titanium Speed Ring helps stabilize and reinforce the perimeter of the club face, which maximizes ball speed for on-center strikes, while its Variable Face Thickness technology preserves ball speed on off-center strikes.
Titleist GT1 Fairway Metals
The fairway metal design aimed for clubhead speed and forgiveness with their engineering. They are ultra-lightweight and have the deepest CG position for maximized inertia.

They are also ultra-customizable and feature new adjustable forward-aft flat-weights that give the fitter greater control over launch conditions. There are several weights that can be flipped and adjusted to help decrease spin.
Titleist GT1 Hybrids
The GT1 hybrids are a continuation of Titleist’s focus on lightweight engineering that aim to keep ball speeds up.
However, the GT1 hybrids are also offering high-MOI performance to offer forgiveness and playability, which is something that these types of clubs are great for.
One of the most interesting ways it is offering forgiveness is by utilizing a longer heel-to-toe measurement than the past model. Not only does this improve confidence, but also helps retain speed on off-center strikes.
