Rickie Fowler is switching to the Titleist Pro V1 for 2025, choosing to leave the TaylorMade TP5x after several years.

Fowler has been playing Cobra clubs for quite some time but has been part of Team TaylorMade to the extent of balls and gloves.

He will leave the TaylorMade balls in the past, at least for now.

Fowler said to Golfweek:

Everyone makes great product these days and I felt like there were multiple options I could go play from different manufacturers.”

The Pro V1 is the most used ball on the PGA TOUR, with roughly two-thirds of players choosing it as their preferred option. It packs a lot of cutting-edge technology and offers spin rates that are advantageous to both short game and long game.

The report notes that he will be using the 2023 version of the ball, and not the 2025 build that was just released a few days ago.

The changes for 2025 include a better ball flight and spin system thanks to a new high gradient core. This was established through a “complete core reformulation,” which resulted in a steepening of the ball’s “spin slope.”

However, Fowler must have felt the 2023 was a better option for his game.
