Travel Light with Jones Golf FC Weekender Duffle
There’s a good chance everyone’s gone away on a weekend trip (with the luckiest among us being able to say they’ve gone on dedicated golf trips). But one of the biggest problems I’ve had with packing for such trips is finding the right bag to carry everything in.
Suitcases hold plenty, but can be really obnoxious to carry around close for just 2-3 days. Additionally, weekend trips usually place a premium on space, which means you need a degree from MIT to be able to figure out how a set of clubs and a pair of suitcases will fit into your trunk.
Meanwhile, most duffle bags hold the right amount of stuff, but everything—clean and dirty—is lumped together, which is certainly less than ideal.
Jones Golf’s FC Weekender Duffle holds everything you’ll need for a (golf) weekend trip in a manner that’s not only portable friendly, but also helps separate the clean from the dirty.

To start, my fiancée was kind enough to treat me to the Jones Golf’s FC Weekender Duffle as a Christmas gift. With Golficity’s trip to the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show quickly approaching, she knew I was in need of something that I could take with me to work (since I would be leaving straight from my desk and had already shipped my down to FL with ShipSticks) and carry 4 days worth of golf clothes with me, ideally in a carry-on so I wouldn’t have to pay extra bag fees (instead of using that money towards green fees and beer) and/or get stuck at the luggage terminal.
Despite being a carry-on sized bag, the FC Weekender Duffle exceeded my expectations because it held everything.
As you might be able to see from the picture, I was able to pack: two (2) pairs of TRUE linkswear golf shoes (the Originals and Knits), five (5) pairs of 2UNDR compression shorts, four (4) pairs of Bonobos’ Highlands pants, five (5) pairs of Stance socks, a few random golf polos and t-shirts to hang out in, and a toiletry travel bag.
The main reason I was able to fit all of this stuff is because the FC Weekender Duffle is sectioned really well. The full-length zipper allows you to fully open up the bag and access everything, which allows you to fill each half of the bag all the way up to the brim. Then, with the help of the internal dividers and and mesh pockets, you can lock everything into the different compartments with zippers that, likewise, run around the perimeter of each half of the bag. And because I wasn’t going to be doing laundry, the cinch-close pocket great was great for keeping my hats safe on the way down, and then separating dirty clothes and shoes from everything else on the way home.
On the outside of duffle, Jones conveniently placed two zipper pockets on opposite sides that were great for holding things like keys, my boarding pass, headphones, sunglasses, and everything else that I needed to keep readily accessible.
But perhaps the greatest surprise the FC Weekender Duffle had in store was how easy it is to carry. That’s because while most duffle bags usually feature a shoulder strap and a pair of handles, Jones ditches the shoulder strap in place of something that makes carrying your stuff significantly easier and, more importantly, comfortable: backpack straps.

As a result, you can easily carry everything you’ll need for the weekend when you’re carrying just your duffle or, alternatively, get stuck carrying multiple bags.
No matter whether you’re driving or flying to your destination, having the right bags can really make the difference between starting your trip off on the right foot or cursing while you drag half your bags through the lobby of your hotel. Jones Golf’s FC Weekender Duffle provides you with plenty of space to pack everything you need, while still remaining compact and easily portable.
Add in the two different carrying options, and you’ll be relaxed and ready-to-go when you arrive at your destination.
