While adidas Golf isn’t in the equipment business, they have an eye for top golfers, including but not limited to current Olympic men’s golf champion Xander Schauffele. And to make sure the 3-stripes stay in the top winner circle, it’s imperative to continue to retain young, top-tier talent like Rose Zhang and, more recently, Ludvig Aberg.

Aberg is the first golfer in history to earn PGA Tour membership—for both the 2023 and 2024 PGA TOUR seasons—by finishing first in the PGA Tour University Ranking, and finishes his collegiate career as the world’s No. 1-ranked amateur where he held the top spot since March 2022.

Aberg said:

“This past year has been an incredible journey and I couldn’t be more excited to wear the 3-Stripes as I start this next chapter of my career. The team at adidas is always committed to making the best for golfers and I’m proud to officially join the team.”

Aberg closes out an outstanding collegiate career where he became the most decorated golfer in the history of the program. Aside from claiming the top spot in the PGA Tour University Ranking, Aberg’s long list of accolades includes back-to-back Ben Hogan Awards and eight collegiate wins, including back-to-back Big 12 Conference Championship victories.

Jeff Lienhart, president of adidas Golf, said:

“With a lot on the line this year, Ludvig showed he is truly a remarkable athlete. He’s earned it all through amazing play and desire to win and we look forward to supporting him in the 3-Stripes as he begins his journey as a professional.”

Aberg joins a roster of adidas athletes that includes the former No. 1-ranked women’s amateur golfer, Rose Zhang, who earlier this month became the first golfer in the last 72 years to win in her first start as a professional.

Aberg made his professional debut at the RBC Canadian Open, where he finished T-25, which was followed up with a T-24 at the Travelers Championship.

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron.
