Golficity Rating:
Site of the 2012 Barclays Championship, among other notable PGA Tour events, the Bethpage State Park Black Golf Course is deemed to be the mecca for public golf. The Black Course is a difficult and challenging course that should be played only by low-handicap golfers – so we’ll most likely play the other ‘color’ courses at Bethpage State Park.

There are no carts available for this course, so get your legs and mental skills in gear before you head out. Accuracy is key at the Black Course due to the small greens and thick ‘off-fairway’ rough.
Measuring 7,065 yards of golf from the tips for a par of 71, this track has a course rating is 75.4 and it has a slope rating of 144 which is one of the highest in the northeast. Designed by A.W. Tillinghast, the Black golf course opened in 1936.
