Yet another week where we come up just short of a winner with Patrick Cantlay finishing tied for 3rd place. Cameron Davis also just came up short of coming top 10 with a 14th place finish. But as has been the case for the past 5 weeks now, the lock of the week won BIG.

I told you guys that Kevin Streelman Top 40 (-125)  was an “absolute mortal lock,” and he didn’t disappoint with a solo 13th finish. Goes to show you can’t take my mortal locks lightly. On that note, let’s get into the picks and extend the lock of the week winning streak to 6.

To Win The Genesis Invitational: Bryson Dechambeau (+1700)

I wouldn’t usually go for the obvious Bryson pick, but he’s valued pretty nicely here at 17/1 odds, especially compared to DJ who is +550.

I wouldn’t even go near DJ this week at that value, but Bryson is worth taking a look at. He’s able to drive the ball better than anyone on TOUR, and by a long shot, when he’s on and he’s also one of the most elite putters the game has to offer. He’s also 18th in SG: Around the Green, so I really don’t see a weakness going into Riviera Country Club. Coming off of a T5 here last year, he should seriously contend this weekend.

To Finish Top 10 at The Genesis Invitational: Collin Morikawa (+300)

Collin Morikawa is someone that I think has the best value to win at 33/1 next to Bryson. He’s an elite ball striker with the chance to win every time he steps on the tee, and his putting has improved over the past year.

To Finish Top 20 at The Genesis Invitational: Max Homa (+200)

You can’t argue with Max Homa’s game right now. He is playing so consistently week to week during this western swing, and he finished T5 here last year, so look for him to have another big weekend at Riviera.

Two Matchup Picks: (Record in 2021: 7-4-1)

Max Homa (-118) over Jason Kokrak

Bryson Dechambeau (-125) over Tony Finau

LOCK OF THE WEEK: Carlos Ortiz Top 40 (-110)

Carlos Ortiz is on an absolute heater, as am I with these locks of the week. He also finished T13 here last year so I expect him to put together another good week. Look to pick him at $7800 in your draft kings lineup too as an added bonus.

Hopefully you’ve been tailing these picks, but it’s not too late, so hop on the train while you still can. I’ll be back next week for the WGC event picks.
