After a disappointing start to 2019 Michelle Wie and her team have decided to step back from competitive golf for the remainder of the 2019 Season. Wie has been battling nagging injuries all season and with her recent missed cut at the Women’s PGA Championship last week, it’s time for Wie to focus on her health.

Wie made the announcement in an Instagram post today that read:

After doing everything I could to play this year, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off from competitive golf. My team and I believe that this will give me the best chance to finally get healthy. I can’t thank you all enough for all the love and support. Means the world to me. ️”

After carding a 12 over, 84 Wie went on to say that she is unsure how much he has left.

At just 29 her career should be far from over but like many athletes, it’s their injuries that decide how their career ends and not the player themselves. Hopefully the next six to nine months will be just what Wie needs to make a full recovery.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
