Every time a golfer enters a pro shop it’s like a kid entering a candy store. Every shelf and rack lined with goodies it’s hard to choose what to buy. NBA Star J.R. Smith didn’t have this issue, he just bought pretty much everything!

The former NBA sixth man of the year recently played Pine Valley with former NFL wide receiver, his brother, and fellow NBA player Chris Smith.  This was the first time Smith played Pine Valley and he clearly wanted to remember it. When I play a new course, I buy a ball or a yardage book. Smith bought the pro shop. He even ended his Instagram post with #ProShopWillNeverBeTheSame.

Smith played only 11 games last season while his team worked on finding him a new home. He still made about $15 million so it’s not like he didn’t have cash to spend. If this is what Smith does when he plays a new course, I can only imagine what will come later this season. When the golf bug bites, it bites hard. With the amount of time and money Smith has right now, the only question for Smith is what course pro shop will he buy out next?

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
