Breaking: Rumors that were circulating earlier today have now been confirmed.

The PGA of America has voted to move the 2022 PGA Championship away from Trump National Golf Club.

PGA officials met today to vote on the motion to move away from Trump National Golf Club for the 2022 PGA Championship. The decision comes shortly after the tragic events that unfolded at the Capitol Building late last week.

It’s been reported that that once President Trump’s term ends on January 20th, The PGA of America will publicly make the announcement and look for another potential host.

The move by the PGA comes on the heals of President Trump facing a number of social media service bans including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and a handful of others.

At the moment, there has been no additional information as to whether other Trump courses will lose the right to host high profile events. Speculation has already begun with regards to whether the R&A will remove Turnbery (another Trump property) from The Open rotation.

This is a breaking story so we can only hope that golf’s governing bodies provide more information in the days to come.
