We are days away from what often ends up being the unofficial launch of the annual product debuts:  the Sentry Tournament of Champions, held at the The Plantation Course at Kapalua between January 5th and 8th.

The internet, however, has other plans, and often—against some manufacturers desires—accelerated this unofficial release with Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and forum teaser pictures spreading like wildfire the minute they get spotted. Just ask Callaway about the PARADYM and Cobra about its AeroJet.

And it seems TaylorMade is the newest “victim” to the internet:

Images have started to leak of what appears to be the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 PLUS and, from initial glances, they appear to be very, very similar to the current generation Stealth.

Both Stealth 2 models appear to feature TaylorMade’s inertia generator located at the rear of the sole, and CarbonWood technology remains (albeit, we can anticipate some updated modifications being made).  Likewise, the Stealth 2 PLUS appears to be retaining the forward-positioned weight track. Otherwise, the Darth Vader-inspired black/red colorway appears to be a constant.

The Stealth 2 was a very well-received driver, so I understand the “don’t change what works” mentality. But let’s wait for the official TaylorMade release before passing judgement over something that may be equipped with several, non-visible technologies.

That said, I anticipate what the big TaylorMade release will be this is its fairways that may—for the first time—feature CarbonWood technologies. Luckily, we’re only days away from seeing what Team TaylorMade will be gaming this year.
