Last week, we teased about what we believe may be the 2023 Callaway driver:  the PARADYM.

There is questioning that the PARADYM is also polarizing.  The navy blue colorway is a distinct departure from all prior JAILBREAK equipped models, which have historically featured a neutral, grey carbon crown, excluding the current Rogue ST lineup which features a well-received matte grey carbon crown.

Speaking of which, the PARADYM appears to be the first to feature a more-TaylorMade inspired crown. To explain, prior Callaway drivers have featured a one piece, solid color crown with the Callaway chevron as an alignment aid.  TaylorMade, since the M1, has featured a solid color front section that transitions to the carbon crown section.

The PARADYM appears to be the first departure from the more established Callaway crown design, and is likely to be met with mixed feedback (and copying homework memes).

But that’s not the only departure from Callaway’s more traditional landscape.

While the Epic MAX and Rogue ST lineups both featured 4 models, with 3 at launch followed by the later release of the Triple Diamond model, it appears that the PARADYM will downsize and cut the Max D (draw) model from the lineup and offer Triple Diamond right from the get-go.

This is particularly interesting given that many golfers fight the open clubface slice and, therefore, benefit from the Max D’s draw-biased design, and the Triple Diamond was traditionally a tour-only product only recently being offered en masse.

The standard PARADYM model also features a new take on the Callaway adjustable weight track.  While Callaway has featured as sole-mounted weight track in the GBB Epic and Epic Max, the PARADYM may the first to feature a heel-mounted weight track.

The drivers aren’t the only product being shook up.  Indeed, if the marketing stands to be correct, this will also be the first time a Triple Diamond fairway wood will be available to the general public. Hybrids and irons, however, will be limited to the PARADYM and PARADYM X models.  As for the irons, it will be interesting to see if a ST PRO model makes a return.  Callaway has a history for having way too many models in their lineups—there’s 5 different Apex models, not including the black finish Apex 21s, and women’s models—so it will be interesting (and helpful) if they can trim some fat.

While we won’t hear more about the technology for a few more weeks, the PARADYM stands to be a big change for Callaway that may (or may not) be well received.

If you’re going to write articles about equipment please do some basic research. The claim Callaway have copied the crown design from Taylormade is embarrassing given they did it first with the ERC Fusion.
