Following the TaylorMade Stealth and Callaway Rogue ST launches, it was only a matter of time until the other OEMs followed suit and debuted their 2022 lineup.

Cobra appears to be the next, with a confirmed launch of their 2022 LTDx lineup scheduled for tomorrow, January 19th.

Although you will have to wait for the Cobra launch to get all the confirmed details and noteworthy upgrades to the LTDx, images of the production model have surfaced (particularly after Bryson put it in play at the Sentry Tournament of Champions) and the models have all surfaced on the USGA conforming list, and it does not look to shabby…

Cobra has unofficially become known as a brand who’s metalwoods have flashier colorway options, as shown by the RADSPEED, which was offered in Black and Turbo Yellow or Peacoat and Red.  Speaking of which, initial glances of the sole on the above-pictured LTDx model show what appears to be more of a refinement than a design overhaul (as compared to the F7 to SpeedBack evolution).

As the USGA Conforming List currently shows, the 2022 LTDx lineup appears to have 3 models—the LTDx, LTDx LS, and LTD MAX.  As has become standard, it logically follows that the LS will be a low-spin-focused variant, while the MAX will offer increased forgiveness and draw-biased ball flight.

For the bombers, it’s worth noting that the USGA Conforming List shows a 7.5° loft LTDx head, which leads me to believe a special, long-drive model was created for Kyle Berkshire to compete with.

From reviewing the sole images, the LTDx looks like it will feature an updated version of Radial Weighting system, with the weights positioned in the front (closer to the face) more in line, as opposed to the RadSpeed, where the weights were staggered.

The sole also alludes that a Speed Frame will be part of the new model, which I suspect will be an evolution of Cobra’s T-Bar Speed Chassis currently found in the RadSpeed, which is dedicated to better weight positioning.

Perhaps most interesting is that Cobra, who really pioneered the way for tighter-tolerance faces with its CNC milled  in the F8, has decided to update that industry-exclusive feature with what appears to be their new H.O.T. Face.

While one can only imagine how you could make a precision, thin-milled face even hotter while conforming to USGA and R&A restrictions, Cobra’s H.O.T. Face is already alluding to something that will likely try to provide even more ball speed than its predecessors.
