Bryson DeChambeau: Let the Top 12 on LIV Money List Into Majors
With the Official World Golf Ranking officially denying LIV Golf’s application to earn points, the circuit appears to be out of luck as far as getting its players into the four majors based on current qualifications.
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman was one of the key voices pushing the issue last year, but since the framework agreement between LIV’s benefactors — the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund — and the PGA Tour was reached in June, “The Shark” has been silent.
Enter Bryson DeChambeau, who spoke prior to the LIV Golf event in Jeddah this week. He said that with the OWGR door closed, he would like to see a different agreement reached with the sanctioning bodies of the four majors.

DeChambeau said on Thursday:
“Top 12 on the list, the money list at the end of the year, or the points list at the end of the year would be, I think, obvious for the major championships to host the best players in the world at those four events each year.”
It remains to be seen how LIV golfers will integrate with the PGA Tour pros if an agreement is finalized between the PGA Tour and PIF. Forces both in and out of the golf world are expected to cause an extension in the Dec. 31 deadline to get a deal done.
Under the current rules, DeChambeau, who has won two of the last three LIV tournaments, would be eligible for all of the majors through 2025 due to his win at the 2020 U.S. Open. His plan would give LIV golfers who have not won a major in recent years a chance to compete in them.
