Callaway Launches Ti 340 Mini Driver
The Skunk Works development team at Callaway has convinced the powers at be that it’s time they release another offering from their Paradym Ai Smoke family to help their staffers at the 2024 U.S. Open.

This time, it’s the Ti 340 Mini Driver. Basically slotted between the driver and fairway woods, the Ti Mini Driver looks to increase eagle and birdie opportunities on those drivable Par-4s by promoting a higher launch with more spin to produce a softer landing off the tee.
What makes this particularly interesting is that Callaway’s Ti Mini Driver may be the first “fairway wood” that features a titanium face construction. You see, while titanium is the go-to option in drivers, stainless steel is the market standard for fairway woods and hybrids due to its superior strength and durability properties—which become necessary as you take shots off the deck and from hairy lies, rather than a tee box.
But to ensure the Ti Mini Driver has plenty of pop, Callaway is incorporating a titanium construction and AI smart face that promises plenty of speed with precision dispersion.
In addition to the face technology, the Ti Mini Driver—which is available in 11.5 (RH only) and 13.5 (RH and LH) lofts—will also feature front and back adjustable weights, 4 and 12 grams, respectively, that can be adjusted to fine-tune ball flight and spin.
Callaway’s Advanced R&D Manager Nick Yontz commented on the Ti Mini Driver, stating:
“What we’ve seen from a Tour aspect is that Tour players are rarely hitting their 3-woods into greens as approach shots. The 3-wood has become nearly a tee-only club, so situationally I think we’re going to see tour players lean into this at certain golf courses and certain setups as a club that they can use to hit more fairways.”
In layman’s terms, this may be like the driving iron that professionals rotate in and out, depending on the course they’re playing and the shots they’re expecting to encounter.
But that doesn’t mean the Ti Mini Driver should be viewed as a “Tour-only” product. In fact, Yontz further noted that the Ti Mini Driver could be a good option for players who struggle with their three wood; the Ti Mini Driver does, in fact, come with a larger footprint, and the added power could help compensate for the lack of quality contact.
The Ti 340 Mini Driver is available for pre-order right now and retails for $449.99. As mentioned, it will be available in 1.5 (RH only) and 13.5 (RH and LH) lofts and can be paired with a variety of shafts.
