Charlie Woods Shoots 66 to Qualify for Notah Begay III National Championship
Charlie Woods, the son of Tiger Woods, shot 66 on Sunday at the Last Chance Regional to earn a spot at the Notah Begay III National Championship, the premier tournament in Junior Golf.
With Tiger on the bag, Charlie started the round with birdies on the first three holes before bogeying two Par 4s and landing another birdie on the par-3 8th hole to go out in 33.
Charlie made another three birdies on the first three holes of the back. He finished with another 33 and finished his round with a 6-under 66.
The Woods boys said their time on the course was fun. Not to mention, Charlie, who had probably the most mentally tough golfer to ever live on his bag, didn’t hurt either (via SBNation):
“It’s great. We just stay in our own little world. We take it one shot at a time. He puts me in my place.”
Charlie fended off heavy competition to seal the victory and had to nail an 8-footer on 18 to secure the 14-15 age division victory:

Last year, Woods shot 68 to win but realized he would need another low round to take home another championship.
“Shooting 68 last year and followed up with 66 this year. Obviously, this course is great for me… You have to go shoot a low round to win this thing, and it’s not going to be given. Just took it one shot at a time, don’t think too far ahead, and you just gotta keep eating. That’s it.”
Charlie and Tiger will head to Louisiana for the Notah Begay III National Championship on November 4-6 at Coushatta Casino Resort.
