Club Champion Enhances Fittings with Arccos Golf Data

Modern club fittings have provided amateur golfers with invaluable data that helps identify what club head and shaft combination performs best for them.

However, the ultimate test is still what happens on each shot after you step up to that first tee box to kick off your round. Fortunately, shot tracking systems have helped golfers not only keep track of how many shots they take during a round, but, more importantly, analysis concerning the quality of the shots they took.

Arguably, the best way to maximize a fitting would be to take your shot tracking data and coordinate with your coach and fitter to help identify certain gaps in a golfers’ game that might require some equipment tweaks.

Club Champion and Arccos Golf have partnered up to develop “smart fittings.” In addition to Club Champion’s current lineup of 2,000 different grip options, Arccos’ smart grips and smart sensors are now available through all of Club Champion’s 70+ locations, with or without a club fitting.

With the help of Arccos’ on-course data, fitters will be provided with a better understanding of their clients’ game and track progression even after a fitting. And to help ensure Club Champion’s fitters will be able to get the most out of the Arccos on-course data, which includes, among other things, shot-by-shot history, Smart Distance club averages, club gapping, club usage, dispersion patterns, miss tendencies, and Strokes Gained Analysis for driving, approach, chipping, bunker play and putting, all Club Champion fitters will be trained and certified as experts in the Arccos Caddie performance tracking platform and the Arccos Dashboard.

“Having access to our clients’ Arccos on-course shot data allows us to fully understand each player’s unique golf DNA,” said Nick Sherburne, Club Champion founder. “The data is golden. It helps golfers and our fitters better track performance while gaining an unbiased understanding of where they excel and what they need to improve. This will further solidify Club Champion as the leader in fitting and helping people get better at the game of golf.”

It goes without saying, but the partnership between Club Champion and Arccos Golf has the potential to be a very valuable tool golfers who want some extra confidence when they go to decide which 14 clubs should give them the best chance to succeed and, therefore, be in their bag. By analyzing the abundance of on-course data, golfers will be able to work with Club Champion fitters and determine whether they’d be best served by carrying an extra wedge or ditching their long irons and adding some more friendly hybrids.
