The Setup at DLF Golf and Country Club is Jaw Dropping
You may think that you’ve seen some crazy golf courses in your days on the links but the DLF Golf and Country Club is something that looks like it’s straight out of Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR.
The course sits in India and plays host to multiple events on both the European and Asian Tours. This week, the European Tour is stopping there for the Hero India Open and players are posting about the unbelievable wonders of the course. The design of the course is beautiful to look at but it also makes for some major headaches for the players.

The one hazard that has everyone buzzing this week is the massive bunker that can be found on the course. It is surrounded by a wall three times the height of players that looks even higher thanks to the overgrown vegetation that sits at the top.
The shots of this bunker that have been shown prove that it hails in comparison to any bunker at St. Andrews.
Outside of the giant bunker that’s now Instagram famous, the course also features many other little quirks that make it challenging and aesthetically pleasing. The course is set just outside of New Delhi and the city’s skyline is easily visible. There are also many astounding rock formations that hide pins in plain sight or simply create blind shots all around the course. And if that wasn’t enough, there are also a few island greens floating out on the water.
The course designer is a name we all know, legendary golfer Gary Player. Since Player designed the course back in 1999, it has been a wonder of the Asian Tour and has now hosted the Indian Open three consecutive years on the European Tour. Shiv Chawrasia has won the tournament the past two years and will be looking to make it a three-peat this year.

This is one of the most interesting courses that I have personally ever seen and I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays for the European Tour this week. And if the opportunity to play the course ever arises, we should all take it in a heartbeat.
