DP World Tour: David Howell Makes History by Being the Third Player to Join the 700 Club
Formerly known as the European Tour and currently named the DP World Tour, David Howell makes history by joining two other world-class players this week.
Howell made his 700th start on the DP World Tour and was also the youngest to reach this milestone at 47.
The Grind
Howell needs to make seven more starts to pass DP World Tour legend Sam Torrance at 707. A lot of grit and dedication have to be made to play this kind of schedule.
Even Torrance lost his love for the game and eventually gave up golf for good into his senior career. The man that holds the record at 717 events made by the Spanish man for the people, Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
Current Record Holder
Jiménez has carried his success into his PGA Tour Champions by winning at least once each year since he started in 2014 totaling 12 wins. David Howell could make his debut on the PGA Tour Champions in 3 years when he turns 50 to extend his professional golf longevity.
Howell has won 5 times on the DP Tour, notably winning the BMW Championship, making two Ryder Cup Appearances, and beating Tiger Woods by three shots in the HSBC Champions in 2005.

To Beat the Record
Howell needs to make 18 more appearances on the DP World Tour to hold the most events played on the DP World Tour.
Nonetheless an impressive feat by only joining two other elite golfers in the 700 start club.
