ECCO S-LITE — A Lightweight, Premium Leather Golf Shoe

ECCO Golf—a manufacturer of premium golf shoes—just released their newest model.  While lots of golf shoe manufacturers have started releasing “lightweight” models, most of them feature a fabric construct that sacrifices the premium feel associated with leather.  Taking inspiration from sprinters flats and modern street style, ECCO is looking to challenge the norm with the S-LITE—a one-of-a-kind hybrid shoe that debuts a lightweight leather design.

Starting from its foundation, the S-LITE connects golfers with the earth through a TPU outsole that’s 66% thinner than ECCO has previously created, creating an ultra-light on-course experience that doesn’t sacrifice traction.  Indeed, the E-DTS LITE hybrid outsole design features more than 100 traction studs and 800 traction angles for excellent grip in all playing conditions.

The S-LITE uppers are built from ECCO’s premium, durable YAK leather that are designed to be lightweight and comfortable, and complemented with a stylish, diamond-shaped embossing.

However, the lightweight design doesn’t require golfers to sacrifice golf functionality.  Indeed, the upper is also constructed with a soft textile lining that provides natural water repellency and breathability.  In other words, while the S-LITE is constructed from leather, your foot will still remain cool on the hottest of days, and dry when you happen to step in that hidden puddle.

Finally, in order to ensure a strong connection between the TPU outsole and YAK leather uppers, a molded leather heel counter and wing-wrapped midsole offer enhanced stability and steadier footing as you swing, while ECCO’s FLUIDFORM Comfort Technology that absorbs shock and cushions, while also creating an integral, flexible and durable bond that provides a unique durability advantage over common with stitched or glued assemblies.
