Golf isn’t an easy game, so having a relaxing, fun place to learn the game, bang some balls and challenge some friends can be an invaluable asset, especially during the offseason.

In that regard, there’s little doubt that Five Iron Golf has become the leader in urban golf.  Indeed, the brand that was founded in early 2017 has quickly expanded from its originally spot in Manhattan to Baltimore, Chicago and Philadelphia.

And it’s no secret why:  Five Iron makes golf fun.

So now that Five Iron has had five years of success, it was time to step it up another notch.

Perfectly located in the heart of NYC—right in between Penn Station and the Empire State Building—Five Iron Golf will be debuting it’s state-of-the-art, two floor, 25,000 square foot headquarters.

“Five Iron was created largely because we wanted to make the game convenient and accessible in Manhattan while providing the best experience for the dedicated golfer,” says Jared Solomon, CEO and Co-Founder of Five Iron. “We’re excited to open our flagship location in the city where it all began and further develop our concept with the team and community that built the foundation for our company.”

While the location was previously home to Golf & Body NYC, Five Iron will be renovating the facility to make sure it reflects the unique and welcoming atmosphere that Five Iron has sought to offer golfers and non-golfers alike.  Murals, modern lounge furniture, two bars and a full kitchen will help make sure that the location always has a good vibe, whether you’re visiting for lessons, tournaments and league competitions.

“We are reaffirming our mission to be a place that simultaneously welcomes first-timers and prioritizes the needs of dedicated players by developing a best-in-class and dynamic indoor teaching and training facility,” says Mike Doyle, Director of Golf and Co-Founder of Five Iron. “Our flagship location will have the latest in instructional technology— including fifteen TrackMan bays, force plates, and a GEARS optical motion system—allowing our golf instructors to provide an exceptional lesson experience to a beginner, a tour player, and everyone in between.”

In addition to the top-of-the-line golfing technology, the Herald Square location will also be the first Five Iron to feature a high-tech gym and The Fitting Lab, a boutique club-fitting company offering custom fittings, repair services, and personalization.

It goes without saying that once Five Iron Herald Square opens, it will be THE golfing paradise in NYC.

“Five Iron Golf is revolutionizing the way urban communities experience the game of golf,” says Klaus Eldrup-Jørgensen, CEO and Co-Founder of TrackMan. “We are thrilled to create a long term partnership to further our shared technology-driven mission of growing the game, while we also learn from Five Iron’s success to continue innovating and expanding our golf entertainment capabilities.”

Five Iron Golf Herald Square, located at 883 6th Avenue, will begin construction this fall with a goal of opening in November 2020 (just in time for fall golf leagues and off-season lessons & practice).  More information is available on Five Iron’s website (here) and Instagram, so make sure to follow this and and check it out the next time you’re in NYC.

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron.
