Greg Norman and Verizon Set to Launch New Golf Technology
Despite the worries of many inside and outside of the game, golf seems to be a sport that is expanding at a steady rate. And now, big businesses and former players are betting big on golf’s expansion.
According to the New York Post, legendary Greg Norman and Verizon are set to announce a huge collaboration on a new golf technology at an event next month. The deal combines the golf-savvy of the Shark and the technology expertise of Verizon to create a product that is intended to change the entire way we look at the game of golf.
There is nothing known right now about the product that Norman and Verizon are partnering to invest in but the hype for it is real. The money being invested in this new technology is also off the charts, with tens of millions reportedly being funneled into this mystery project. The aim of the new product is to attract more younger players to the game.

Norman explained some of the benefits that the technology will have. “This generation loves to be connected and entertained 24/7.” Norman said. “We are looking at how to keep the 6.3 million golfers between the ages of 18 and 34 interested in the sport, and how do we attract new golfers to the game. We’re going to be taking people to the future of the sport.”
With all the changes going on in golf, this seems like the perfect opportunity to invest in the technology surrounding the game. Just recently, the PGA TOUR relaxed some rules on electronic use at events and have been integrating more technology into broadcasts. And being that more people tried playing golf for the first time since 2000, the game is on track to keep growing and appealing to younger generations.
Even though this new technology is still a mystery, the excitement surrounding it certainly isn’t lacking and we can’t wait to see what the investment team unveils next month.
