Greg Norman Attends The Masters — But He Wasn’t Invited
With the Masters underway, there is one person in attendance who was not a year ago: LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman.
The man who had so much heartbreak at Augusta National as a player walked with his head held high on Wednesday – complete with his traditional Shark-branded hat.
Norman told the Washington Post:
“I’m here because we have 13 players that won 10 Masters between them. So, I’m here just to support them, do the best I can do show them, ‘Hey, you know, the boss is here rooting for you.’”
But word began to trickle out on Thursday that Norman was not invited this year just like he wasn’t last year. Word was going around that he bought a ticket on the secondary market.
His son took to social media to confirm these reports.
Yes. All this is true.
My dad paid for a ticket on the secondary market to attend the Masters as a patron. He was denied one directly after going through the proper professional channels. He had to be there anyway to support the LIV players.

While the number of LIV Golf members could continue to deplete in Augusta thanks to the circuit not getting points in the Official World Golf Ranking, the addition into the field of Joaquin Niemann shows that the committee at Augusta National has an open mind.
Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Fred Ridley said:
“Our goal is to have, to the greatest extent possible, the best field in golf, the best players in the world. Having said that, we never have had all the best players in the world because of the structure of our tournament. It’s an invitational. It’s limited field, it’s a small field. But we do have that flexibility … and I would not foreclose that we would consider that in the future.”
Defending LIV champion Talor Gooch did not receive an invitation. Here is a look at the LIV players taking part in the Masters.
